The wine castle Chateau de Pierreclos is an oasis of peace and serenity with an authentic and preserved architecture. The castle is located about ten kilometers west of Mâcon in southern Burgundy above Lyon, in an area on the border of the hills around Mâcon and the Haut Beaujolais, in the middle of one of the most beautiful French wine regions. This wine castle is located on the south side of a twenty meters high hill overlooking the valley and dominating the nearby village offering beautiful views of the countryside and surrounding vineyards. The Chateau de Pierreclos, whose origins date back to the late 9th century, produces its own wines according to the principles of organic farming.

The winery
The wine castle Chateau de Pierreclos is ideally located in the Petite Grosneau valley near the village and has a south-east orientation. Located between Cenves and Mâcon, the location of the domain ensures good sunshine for the different grape varieties, resulting in a longer maturing period. The vineyard consists of 8 hectares of vines in Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran, Mâcon-Pierreclos, Mâcon-Bussières and Mâcon-Milly-Lamartine where the Chardonnay grape reveals the diversity of the terroirs. Chateau de Pierreclos – Bourgogne rouge comes exclusively from the Pinot Noir grape variety. A quality pressing and then a long maturation on fine lees ensures that the wine can enrich itself by incorporating the characteristics of the vintage and the terroir. The winemaking process ends with bottling without filtration.
