The wine castle Chateau Piéguë dominates the heights of Rochefort-sur-Loire and is located about twenty kilometres from Angers and one hundred kilometres from Nantes on the left bank of the Loire. With a beautiful estate full of umbrella pines, peace and nature predominate here. It is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Originally a manor house, the castle was built in 1840 by a royal-minded notary and was converted at the beginning of the 20th century. Chateau Piéguë reflects the French way of life and offers a mix of interesting architectural styles from different eras.

Chateau Piéguë has 5 large rooms that highlight the traces of the castle’s past. All rooms overlook the park dotted with umbrella pines and are surrounded by vineyards. They feature basic amenities such as a private bathroom, a flat-screen TV and are furnished to make your stay memorable, enjoyable and unique. With a view of the vineyards and / or the hills, the rooms give you a true feeling of being in the heart of an authentic vineyard. You will also appreciate their table d’hôtes in the heart of the estate.

The winery
Chateau Piéguë is located on the Loire wine route and has a 27-hectare vineyard, 50% planted with white grape varieties and 50% red grape varieties. Chenin Blanc, Grolleau, Cabernet Sauvignon / Franc, Chardonnay and Gamay are cultivated with care according to organic farming standards. Chateau Piéguë produces excellent wines such as Crémant de Loire, Cabernet d’Anjou and even Coteaux du Layon, which are recognized every year at competitions such as Gilbert & Gaillard. You will also appreciate their IGP Chateau Piéguë – Val de Loire white, rosé and red wine.
