This 5-day wine tour to Cornwall and the south of England will take you to one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. You start this wine tour with a visit to the Roman city of Exeter. Afterwards you will travel around the beautiful vineyards and have a wine tasting at the best wineries in England. Your trip ends with Stonehenge and the town of Windsor near London. You may extend this trip with a city trip to London. You can choose to travel to England by train or plane for this trip. All in all, an original wine holiday to England, that for sure.

Program
DAY 1: ARRIVAL BRISTOL OR LONDON – ENGLAND (D)
Today you will arrive in the largest city in the South Western of England, Bristol. After arrival, your driver / guide will wait for you at the airport. Afterwards you will receive a transfer from the airport to your hotel in the Roman city of Exeter. You can also opt to travel to London by train and then to Exeter (Read the “Other Information” section about the train journey). After check-in at your hotel, you are expected for a glass of wine as a welcome drink. Depending on your arrival time, there will an opportunity to explore the centre of Exeter. After this you are expected for dinner in a wine restaurant.

DAY 2: TASTING WINES IN EAST CORNWALL (B, L, D)
After breakfast at the hotel, depart for an hour and a half drive south-westward through beautiful countryside to a beautiful winery located above Saint Austell Bay. Their restaurant has its own fresh herb and vegetable garden. You start your visit with a tour and wine tasting, followed by a lunch with wine pairing. Then, travel on to Cornwall’s largest vineyard, which has been producing wine since 1989. This makes it one of the longest existing modern days wineries in England. This afternoon, you will take a Grand Tour & Tasting with the founder and owner of the estate, an afternoon to enjoy. The day ends in St Austell, where you will check in to your hotel. The day ends with a relaxed dinner with local wine pairing.

DAY 3: TASTING WINES IN SOUTHWEST CORNWALL (B, L)
After breakfast, rested and recharged, you will head to one of the best wineries around Penzance. This winery is committed to producing a range of artisanal Cornish wines, ciders and fruit juices in a family-run vineyard and orchard. All of their wines, ciders and fruit juices are also certified vegan.
You will start with a guided tour and (wine) tasting, followed by a light lunch of local crab sandwiches or a local charcuterie platter featuring Cornish Coppa, Salami and Chorizo. If possible, with a delicious bottle of original locally made cider. The afternoon will be spent in a contemporary winery located in a rural setting outside a picturesque fishing village made famous by English chef Rick Stein. It has an excellent collection of Cornish wine and cider. Their tour takes you through the beautiful vineyard and winery. Here you will learn more about grape cultivation in England, ending of course with a tasting of their products.

DAY 4: ST AUSTELL TO STONEHENGE (B, D)
After a delicious traditional English breakfast, start today with a journey to the mystical stones of Stonehenge on the Salisbury Plains. Here you will get a guided tour, learn about the history of this place and various theories as to its purpose before traveling to the final destination of the day, an exclusive hotel specialized around the wine theme. Located in beautiful Berkshire, this spa hotel has been privately owned since 1996. The family that owns also owns a highly regarded California winery.
You will enjoy a private wine tasting and a delicious dinner with wine pairing.

DAY 5: DEPART FROM LONDON AIRPORT HEATHROW (B)
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, leave for London Heathrow Airport or London St Pancras train station when you take the Eurostar. If time permits, make another stop in the charming royal town of Windsor before continuing to the airport… or extending your trip with a fun city break to central London. Other information :
If you choose to travel to England by train, you have to change between St Pancras International where you arrive with the Eurostar and Paddington Station for the regional train. This is just like when you want to travel to the south of France by train and have to change trains in Paris. This connection is easy to do. The travel time between St Pancras and Paddington Station takes approximately 30-40 minutes.
