During this beautiful 8-day wine trip to Greece, you discover the Greek capital Athens, and two of the most beautiful islands of the country, namely Santorini as the absolute highlight and Crete. All 3 wine regions visited are unique in Greece and totally different from each other. In addition to the wonderful wines that you will taste during this wine trip to Greece, you will also see a number of cultural highlights such as Knossos, Akrotiri, Oia and beautiful Chania. Program
DAY 1 – FLIGHT TO ATHENS, GREECE (D)
Today you take your flight to Athens, Greece. Upon arrival, transfer to Faliro, one of the nicest areas of Athens by the sea with a promenade to relax. You are expected in one of the nicest rooftop bars in town for a glass of wine as a welcome drink. Then you pay a short visit to the new culture museum with the new opera and national library. After this you will get a tour of some of the most important sights of Athens, one of the oldest cities in the world. At the end of the day you check-in at your hotel and you can relax. This is followed by a dinner in a wine restaurant with delicious Greek meals and matching Greek wines.

DAY 2: ATHENS (O, L, D)
After breakfast at the hotel, set off for a cultural and culinary walk through the historic center of Athens. You discover neighborhoods such as Plaka and Monastiraki. During this culinary and cultural walk you will taste the traditional “koulouri” and “bougatsa” in an Athenian bakery, “Greek coffee” in a cafe in Plaka, “pasteli” etc.
Around noon, head for a traditional meze for lunch near the bustling central market of Athens. You get a typical lunch with of course matching wines. After lunch, you leave for Mesogaia and Attika. During this afternoon you will visit the only organic climatic winery in Greece and wine tasting.
After returning to Athens, you have some free time. After this you are expected for dinner in a wine restaurant.

DAY 3: ATHENS – SANTORINI (B, L, D)
Today you leave, after breakfast at the hotel, towards the beautiful island, known for its white houses and blue church domes and fantastic sunsets, Santorini. After an early transfer to the port of Piraeus near Athens, you take the hydrofoil to Santorini where you will arrive around noon.
Upon arrival, you will be offered a lunch in a traditional village and you will visit one of the few wineries on this special island. The program includes a wine tasting and some time to discover the vineyard.
Dinner in a wine restaurant and overnight stay.
DAY 4: SANTORINI (B, L, D)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will visit the village of Oia, a beautiful village with only white houses built against the steep walls of an old volcano. Discover the cute little streets and see the beautiful sea views. Towards the end of the morning you will visit the second winery of your stay in Santorini and discover the wines that are made during a wine tasting.
After visiting the first winery of the day, you visit another winery for a wine tasting where lunch is also served.
At the end of the afternoon, you go back to your hotel and you have some free time. Dinner in a wine restaurant.

DAY 5: SANTORINI – CRETE (B, D)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will visit the archaeological site of Akrotiri, also known as Pompei of Greece because of an earlier, sudden, volcanic eruption that made this place disappear for centuries. Around noon you visit a winery for a wine tasting.
Mid-afternoon, you will receive a transfer to the port of Santorini and you will depart by hydrofoil to Heraklion, Crete where you will arrive in the early evening. Upon arrival, your transfer will be arranged to your hotel.
Dinner in a wine restaurant and overnight in Heraklion.
DAY 6: CRETE (O, L, D)
After breakfast at your hotel, you visit and you get a tour of the archaeological site of Knossos. Around noon you will visit a winery near Heraklion where you will be offered a wonderful lunch with wine package.
Halfway through the afternoon you visit the second winery of this day. This winery makes its wine in a biodynamic way. Here you will be offered a visit and wine tasting. At the end of the visit you will be brought back to the hotel and you will have some free time.
Dinner in a wine restaurant and overnight in Heraklion.
DAY 7: CRETE (O, L, D)
After breakfast you head to the east of Crete to visit a winery and its delicious wines.
You then travel to Chania where you will be offered lunch. Visit in the afternoon and take a nice walk through the historic center. At the end of the afternoon, you will travel back to Heraklion.
Dinner with wine arrangement.
Overnight.
DAY 8: DEPARTURE (B)
After breakfast at your hotel, and depending on the departure time of your flight, you will receive a transfer to Heraklion airport for your flight back home this morning … or an extension of your trip to one of the other beautiful wine regions and islands of Greece such as Kos or Rhodes.
