Program
DAY 1: ARRIVAL FLORENCE – ITALY (D)
Today you will arrive at the largest city in Tuscany, Florence. After arrival, you will be transferred from the airport to a nice 4 * hotel in the heart of the city. After check-in at your hotel, your own private art guide will pick you up and let you discover the most beautiful highlights of Florence. After a welcome aperitif in one of the most beautiful rooftop bars in the city overlooking the Duomo, enjoy a guided walk through the “Centro Storico” of Florence. You’ll see the Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, and a host of other hidden gems along the way, among other things. The cobbled streets, lively atmosphere and stunning artistic history of the city all add to the enchanting atmosphere. After this you are expected for dinner in a wine restaurant.

DAY 2: CHIANTI CLASSICO (B / L / D)
After breakfast transfer to the beautiful wine region of the Chianti Classico along the scenic Chiantigiana route. This is the land of the Sangiovese and you will taste different expressions of this noble grape. You start the day with a visit to one of the best rated family wineries in Tuscany, perhaps of Italy. Here you can enjoy a tour of the estate and explore the area. You will conclude this tour with a wine tasting of their best wines. As an extra, you can even taste their balsamic vinegar and olive oil. The friendly host will take you on a memorable tour of the winery and sample some of their mythical wines. Then enjoy lunch in their Osteria. Then you will travel to another winery near Siena. On the way, stop for a visit in the village of Monteriggioni. A charming village with medieval defensive walls. Then, continue to your accommodation and relax before enjoying a delicious dinner paired with local wines.

DAY 3: TUSCAN COOKING LESSON AND VISIT TO THE MEDIEVAL CITY OF SIENA (B / L)
After breakfast, this morning you will follow a cooking workshop with a local expert chef, surrounded by a beautiful landscape of vineyards and olive trees. During the cooking workshop, you will learn to make authentic Tuscan dishes. After a tasty lunch, it’s time to visit another local winery. This is a small family-owned vineyard with an impressive diversity of wines and olive oil. These are all produced on the same estate. After this guided tour, you will travel on to the beautiful city of Siena. Here you will enjoy some free time to discover the historic centre inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Sienna is home to some of the most remarkable art and architecture from the 13th to 16th centuries. After dinner (on your own) transfer back to your accommodation and overnight.

DAY 4: CHEESE PREPARATION IN PIENZA AND MONTEPULCIANO WINE EXPERIENCE (B / L / D)
After breakfast today you will go to Montepulciano, one of the most beautiful towns located in the hilly landscape of Tuscany. The fortified hamlet is built along a narrow bridge made of natural tuff. Montepulciano is a mythical name for wine lovers. Montepulciano’s Vino Nobile wines were the first to receive the ultimate quality level of DOCG certification. You will visit one of the top wineries here. After your visit you will be offered a wine tasting and enjoy the Vino Nobile wines in combination with some local dishes. Then you will continue to Pienza where you will discover the secrets of goat cheese making. A Renaissance jewel with incredible artisan boutiques, Pienza is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Dinner and overnight in a beautiful comfortable farm near Montalcino.

DAY 5: DISCOVER THE HISTORY OF THE FAMOUS BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO (B / L / D)
Montalcino is one of the wine regions of Italy and is best known for its elixir red Brunello di Montalcino wines, made from the Sangiovese Grosso grape variety. Your day begins with a visit to a winery where the winegrowers are all women, as well as the winemaker. You take a walk through the vineyards and visit the wine cellars where the wines are aged in casks. Then you will participate in a wine tasting and taste the Rosso, Brunello di Montalcino and Brunello Riserva, among others. After the tour, continue to another old and famous estate near Castelnuovo dell’Abate. Along the way you will see the beautiful 11th century Romanesque Abbey of Sant’Antimo that you should not miss. The estate you will visit has an ancient and noble origin and is more than 220 hectares. Here you will enjoy the visit of the property and a wine tasting surrounded by the rolling hills and forests with unforgettable colours. At the end of the day, travel back to your accommodation. Dinner follows a little later.

DAY 6: SAN GIMIGNANO AND HIS VERNACCIA WINE (B)
After breakfast, on the way back to Florence, enjoy an excursion to San Gimignano. San Gimignano is a beautiful medieval village with many old towers. You have wonderful free time here to visit the city yourself. You enjoy the beautiful cobbled streets full of restaurants, wine and ceramics shops. Then visit the Vernaccia museum and taste the local white drink, the Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG. You arrive in Florence in the afternoon. Time for the last walk through this beautiful city.

DAY 7: DEPARTURE (B)
After breakfast, and depending on your flight times, you will get a transfer to the airport for your flight back home… or an extension of your trip to one of the other beautiful wine regions of Italy or why not a city trip to Rome. Ask us about the possibilities for a free, customized quote.
